McKenzie College (Nova Scotia)

McKenzie College is a private career college, located in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The College was founded in 1988 and offered a variety of occupational training programs.
In the early 1990s McKenzie College developed and introduced the first multimedia training program in Eastern Canada. The College became well known in Atlantic Canada in the technology and high tech industries. The College expanded to include three campuses, Halifax and Sydney Nova Scotia and Moncton, New Brunswick. Graduates of the college were positioned at an early time in the New Media field to take advantage of new opportunities offered by the adoption of digital technologies and the Internet.
In 1999, Dale Ritchie became the new owner and president, replacing Snow and MacLeod. In 2003 the Sydney campus was sold to Sydney businessman Todd Graham. As McKenzie College's new owner and president, Mr. Graham, moved the school to its present location in downtown Sydney and began developing programs outside the College's traditional technology base.
Responding to market demands, in 2010 McKenzie College began offering a number of occupational training programs in Professional Driving and Heavy Equipment Operator. McKenzie College now occupies two facilities; one in downtown Sydney, Nova Scotia and the other in the Sydport Industrial Park.
